Classic Recreations ?
The Yukon, Oklahoma-based company has started offering the option of a carbon-fiber body for buyers of its replicas based on the original Ford Mustang.
The carbon bodies come from the folks at Speedkore Performance Group, and to get the ball rolling Classic Recreations will build Ford Shelby GT500 replicas with the lightweight stuff in a special series known as the Shelby GT500CR Carbon Edition.

Officially unveiled by Classic Recreations in May, this visionary, re-imagined American muscle car moves the iconic 1967 Shelby GT500 into the 21st century with a powerful contemporary engine, upgraded suspension, better braking systems and the latest automotive technologies.
The Shelby cars combine the best of classic and contemporary worlds, all wrapped in a lightweight and ultra-strong carbon fiber body.

“We’re excited that the world’s first carbon fiber bodied heritage Shelby GT500CR has moved from dream to reality; a true inspiration for future models.”Jason Engel, founder, co-owner and lead designer at Classic Recreations
Working with SpeedKore Performance Group, Classic Recreations directed the process to create the woven carbon fiber bodies using original Shelby molds to meticulously reproduce the iconic lines of the classic 1967-68 Shelby Mustang.
It’s the first time that the technology used by supercars, exotics and aircraft has been applied so extensively to an American muscle car.
For its carbon-fiber Shelby GT500 replica, Classic Recreations uses a basis 1967/1968 Mustang chassis, with the finished product weighing in at around 600 pounds (272 kg) less than stock.

For 2018, Ford made revisions to the Coyote equipped in the Mustang GT, most notably the addition of high-pressure direct injection (in addition to the existing port injection system),
and an increase of the piston bore diameter from 92.2 to 93 mm (3.63 to 3.66 in). Increase in the bore size, resulting from the adoption of Plasma Wire Arc Transfer cylinder liner technology in place of the more traditional sleeve in the block, brings total displacement up from 4,951 to 5,035 cc (302 to 307 cu in).
include Gen. 3 specific camshafts, enlarged intake and exhaust valves, an increased compression ratio of 12.0:1, a revised intake manifold, and 7500 RPM redline in the Mustang.
w/ these changes the updated 5.0L Coyote is rated by Ford at 460hp and 569 Nm.

“By wrapping this featherweight carbon fiber body over the original steel substructure, we can create perfect panels, seams and lines.”Jason Engel, founder, co-owner and lead designer at Classic Recreations
“The result is stunning perfection in a car that is an astounding 600 pounds lighter than stock.
The power-to-weight ratio is on par with the most exotic vehicles, making it a modern world-class supercar with American muscle at its soul.”
modern upgrades include Wilwood brakes (6-piston front, 4-piston rear calipers with slotted, cross-drilled, and zinc-washed rotors), a power rack-and-pinion steering conversion, and adjustable coil-over suspension front and rear

“Far too often, car companies tease the public with concepts that never go into production.Jason Engel, founder, co-owner and lead designer at Classic Recreations
Our first car of this spectacular new series is being assembled and we look forward to presenting it to its new owner at the Shelby American facility in Las Vegas.
This carbon fiber bodied continuation heritage Shelby GT500CR will carry the Shelby DNA into every model we build.”
