In Cyberpunk 2077 the vehicle designs have this crazy blend of classic, post-modern, and futuristic influences that get mashed together into cars and bikes that look like they could be real 50 years from now.

As part of the hype for the upcoming release, Cyberpunk 2077’s developer CD Projekt Red has teamed up with Rockstar Energy to build a custom 1970 Ford Mustang inspired by the “Quadra Type-66”.

The Ford Boss 302 is a high-performance « small block » 302 cu in (cub inch) 4.9L V8 engine manufactured by Ford Motor Company.

The original version of this engine was used in the 1969 and 1970 Boss 302 Mustangs was constructed by attaching heads designed for the planned 351 Cleveland to a Ford small block.

The construction was aided by the two engines sharing a cylinder head bolt pattern, though the Boss heads had to have their coolant passages slightly modified.

In the 1970s, chief engineer Hank Lenox had the brilliant idea of mixing two Ford-designed engines.

used the base of the 302 « Tunnel Port » block used for racing and parts from the all-new Cleveland 351, such as cylinder heads, connecting rods, pistons and the forged steel crankshaft.

In order to optimise the oil supply, he decided to compartmentalise the crankcase and add a high flow oil pump.

To finish the job, he added a 780 cfm Holley carburettor topped with an aluminium intake manifold.

The transmission of the 1970 Mustang Boss 302 is carried out by a single four-speed « Top loader » manual gearbox.
